Denise Leigh and Miami Beach
Denise Leigh recommends Miami Beach

If I had to pick one place to live in Miami I think it would have to be Miami Beach. It’s not an easy decision because today in Miami there are so many great neighborhoods but to me, nothing beats Miami Beach’s appeal. You have the Art Deco and Modernist architecture, great shopping and dining options, and of course the beaches with their clear blue water and white sand. They are some of the most beautiful in the world.

Whether you are single or have a family, alone or out with friends, there is just so much to do and so many options in Miami Beach.

Miami Beach
One bedroom residence at the Setai. Shot from the balcony. Beautiful views of the beach.

My favorite building is The Setai. It brings me back to my travels to Southeast Asia, especially Thailand and Bali. It’s amazing how once you step inside, all the craziness of South Beach disappears. It is so serene, but with all the amenities of a five-star hotel. Nothing else compares.

For dining, I love to go to Smith and Wollensky’s and sit outside on the water and have drinks with friends. The setting is classic Miami and the views are breathtaking, especially around sunset. Prime 112 is also an all-time favorite because the food is simply amazing. The menu is mostly classic American dishes with novel touches (lobster mac & cheese, Kobe beef hot dog, fried Oreos), but nothing I’ve ordered there has ever been short of delicious. Another great spot is Big Pink, a neighborhood favorite and the best diner in Miami Beach.
