How long have you been living in Miami?
I was born in Miami and I have been living here for 32 years. As a child I lived in Guadalajara, Mexico.


What’s the atmosphere like in Brickell nowadays?

This area has a vibrant city feel and a rich night life. All this is combined with an international flair which makes it a very interesting place to live in, do business in and visit.


How would you describe the typical Brickell resident?
Young professional, well-traveled, with refined taste who enjoys all the commodities of living in a fast-paced urban lifestyle.We are also starting to have many “empty nesters” who are very active and looking to simplifying their lives.


What are the major changes that Brickell has gone through in the past 5 years?
The main change comes with the construction of more buildings. There are more people living and working in this area. There is a significant growth of dining and shopping options and finally a highly improved public transportation system that was almost nonexistent about 6 years ago.

We now have direct transportation to Miami International Airport, a free Trolley service running from Coconut Grove to Midtown and “Freebees”, an electric, open-air vehicle that offers free rides for Downtown and Brickell residents in high-traffic areas.


How do you see Brickell/Downtown in 5 years?
This neighborhood has a lot of energy. A lot of people are coming from other parts of the country and from abroad to live and work. I am sure that it will just continue to grow and become the “Little Manhattan” of the South East (US).


Are people coming to Brickell/Downtown mainly to live all year-round or to visit?
There is a mix of young professionals that live, work and play in this neighborhood and second or third home owners that enjoy Miami’s city life and live between their condo in Brickell and their other property closer to the beach.
